Right Amount Of Skincare Product

Are You Using The Right Amount Of Skincare Product?

Your beauty shelf has it all—from serums to exfoliators. But do you truly know how much of each product you must use to get the maximum results? We’re breaking it down for you…

Too busy filling your cart with all the latest skincare products in the market? While you’re at it, do you truly know how much of each product you actually need for your skin? The reason for adult acne or skin irritation could be very obvious—perhaps you’re slathering on excess amounts of skincare products (or not enough). You’re either using too much or too little.

We already live in an age of excess—we’re guilty of way too many choices and way too many products in our skincare cabinet. How do we know we aren’t subjecting our skin to too much product? If you watch skincare tutorials or read blogs, you’re being told to dab, or coat or massage, apply or slather your serum, face oil or night cream. But not much is told on how much product one needs to use.

Don’t worry—we’re uncomplicating this one for you…

Apply two pumps of a cleanser while massaging it for a good 60 seconds so your skin is deeply cleansed. But don’t overwash your skin—just twice a day should do the trick. If your skin feels tight, it means you’re either using too much cleanser or just overdrying your face.

Use an almond-sized amount of moisturiser so it’s just about right to cover your entire face. But if you plan to include your neck, add a little more. Don’t overdo it—your skin will absorb the quantity it needs and the rest of it will just end up clogging your pores. If you happen to have oily skin, this is a big no-no for your skin. So make sure you stick to the required quantity only.

Skincare should mean TLC for your skin. This is why you need to be careful while using an exfoliator or a scrub. Make sure you choose a scrub that’s mild on the skin—anything that’s harsh might end up being too abrasive on the skin. While you’re at it, remember that you need only half a teaspoon of the skincare product. Anything more than that would be too harsh on your skin.

Eye cream

Use a pea-sized amount for under eyes. Although under eye care is crucial to skincare, you only need a little bit of product.

You might take your serums rather seriously but less is more when it comes to serums. Serums are potent and concentrated. So a little goes a long way with serums. A pea-sized drop is all you need.

Sunscreen is key to good skin. Not only does it protect your skin against UV rays but it also ensures that your skin is resilient to fight wrinkles in the future. When it comes to applying sunscreen, use a tablespoon and make sure you apply it on the neck too!
