Are you stressed? We know your answer! Who isn’t stressed, though? Juggling all the roles we play as women can leave us overwhelmed (even though we might look bangin’ doing it). While therapy is surely one of the ways to deep dive into reducing stress, are there any quick hacks to de-stressing? This is where our self-care tips come into play—they’re quick, easy and doable!
Listen to 10-minute podcasts
You know how they say laughter is the best medicine? This stuff is legit! How do we de-stress when we’ve had the Mondayest of Mondays? We listen to podcasts like Kind World, Seven Opinions and Love and Luck! They make us laugh, they help us calm down (unless we’re PMSing, in which case, we also need some cake).
Spend a few minutes outdoors
Decreased anxiety, better memory and an overall happier mood—all it takes to achieve these is to get up from your chair and step out of the door. Psychologists say this is a great pick-me-up. Get some sun and you’ll feel like sunshine! It’s true—exposure to sunlight increases the brain’s release of a hormone called serotonin—something that can better your mood and help you focus.
Cook something you love
Don’t know if you’re a girl who digs cooking but if you are, this can be a total stress buster! It works as a creative outlet when you’re having a bad day. Don’t think about the calories; make something your heart wants— cookies, pasta or something easy like hot chocolate! Mmmm…
Try a face mask
A face mask and self-care? They make the perfect marriage! A little pamper sesh for your skin seems like a great way to unwind when you’re stressed. You know those memes that say ‘I’m nicer when my skin looks good?’ Truer words were never spoken! So go on, give your skin some TLC with a face mask of your liking.
Hydration is key
Drinking water lowers your cortisol (also known as the stress hormone) instantly. If you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed and have only a few seconds to yourself, this will help you get a sense of your bearings—all in a few seconds!
So which one are you picking from the list above? We’d love to know in the comments below. Happy de-stressing!
